FREEDOM
PROJECT
Two hours a week that could change your life............
What is it?
The FREEDOM programme is
a 12 week rolling programme.
This means that you can
join at any point - the benefits are the same so long as you
complete the 12 weeks.
Who is it for?
The programme is open to
any woman who wishes to learn more about the reality of
domestic violence & abuse.
Where is it?
The FREEDOM programme is
currently being run at several community venues near you.
What are its aims?
- To help women to
understand the beliefs held by abusive men and in so doing,
recognise which of these beliefs they have shared.
- To illustrate the
effects of domestic violence on children.
- To assist women to
recognise potential future abusers.
- To help women gain
self-esteem and the confidence to improve the quality of
their lives.
- To introduce women to
community resources such as Women's Aid, the Police Domestic
Violence Units, Solicitors, Counsellors, Housing Options
Services.

LAST SHOUT FOR 'GET INTO HOSPITALITY' - A FEW PLACES LEFT.......
The Prince’s Trust is
offering a FREE four-week hospitality training course in
partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council, People 1st
and Jobcentre Plus
The hospitality sector
includes work in hotels, restaurants, cafes, pubs and the
leisure industry. If you’re aged 16 to 25 and have been
struggling to find a job, why not join us? You will:
> receive training to
develop your team work, communication, interview and CV
writing skills, and improve your confidence
> gain two weeks’
work experience to develop your knowledge and
understanding of hospitality
> have the opportunity
to gain Emergency First Aid at Work and Food Hygiene
qualifications
> receive six months’
support after the programme to help you access further
training and job opportunities
The course takes place
from Monday 3rd February to Friday 28th February
2014 in Dunstable.
