is the course for?
This course is suitable for students who have a keen
interest in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, that are enthusiastic and
committed and want to work in the Hair and Beauty industry.
This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and
skills in preparation for a career as a hairdresser or beauty therapist.
What
will I study on the course?
You will cover 11 units which will include the following:

Prepare and maintain salon work areas
·
Contribute to the development of effective
working
·
Health and Safety
·
Shampoo and condition the hair
·
Prepare for hairdressing services and
maintain work areas
·
Assist with day make-up
·
Assist with nail services
·
Assist with salon reception duties
·
Blow dry the hair
·
Plait and twist the hair
·
Assist with facial skin care treatments
What
will I need for the course?
Under
19
You should possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs in the A-E range
with D’s in English and Science, or an appropriate level 1 qualification. A keen and mature approach to learning is
essential. Enrolment is subject to a
successful interview.
Adult
No previous experience required, subject to a successful
interview.
How
will I be assessed?
To gain the qualification, you must provide sufficient
evidence which shows that you can work to the national standards. Sources of evidence include: practical
assessment, project and or case study work, oral or written questions and will
sit some exams.
How
much will it cost?
In addition to tuition fees, there will be a cost for a
beauty therapy kit and uniform.

long is the course?
This is a one year, full time course

Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
Who
is the course for?
This course is suitable for students who have a keen
interest in Beauty Therapy, that are enthusiastic and committed and want to
work in the Beauty Industry.
This course will provide you with the skills to work
competently as a beauty therapist.

will I study on the course?
You will cover 9 units which will include the following:

Provide facial skincare
·
Remove hair using waxing techniques
·
Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments
·
Client care and communication in beauty
related industries
·
Provide manicure treatments
·
Provide pedicure treatments

Follow health and safety practice in the
salon
